He emphasised that while a majestic building is impressive, true longevity comes from spiritual vitality—a commitment to prayer, transformation, and living out the gospel. This highlighted a crucial point: the church's strength is not in its physical structure but in the faithfulness of its people.
He then delved into the biblical foundation of his message, referencing the end of the Sermon on the Mount and Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish builders. This served as a stark reminder that our lives, families, and congregations must be built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and His Word. He urged us to honour the spiritual legacy of our founders, who, with limited resources, had a clear vision and an unwavering commitment to Christ, obedience to the Bible, community life, and evangelism. Their priorities were simple, pure, and effective, a stark contrast to the distractions we often face today. This part of the sermon was a humble call to reflect on whether we are continuing to build on that same rock or if we have shifted to the shifting sands of modernity.
Engaging with the Present and Preparing for the Future
The sermon didn't just dwell on the past; it was a powerful challenge to engage with the present with the same faith and fire as our spiritual forebears. 在参加今晚“爱不罕见的生命见证”音乐分享会——廖雅慧老师的见证之前，我就已经听闻过她的生命的见证，那是一首关于苦难、信仰与重生的生命乐章。 廖雅慧老师在一次见证分享中，讲述了她与克隆氏症（Crohn's Disease）长达多年的抗争与信仰之路。这种自体免疫疾病主要攻击消化道，导致溃疡、坏死、红肿、穿孔，并且反复发作，让患者痛苦不堪。廖老师在2009年被诊断出此病，当时台湾的患者人数约900多人，如今已飙升至2600多人。 病魔缠身，生活失序 自2009年患病以来，廖老师的生活陷入了无止境的住院循环。她形容自己“进出医院的次数跟进厨房的次数几乎差不多”，每两三个月就需住院一次。发病时，剧烈的腹痛让她坐卧难安，几乎24小时都处于肠胃炎的状态。 2010年，她转院至台大医院，当时小肠溃疡已十分严重，肠道因反复发炎而狭窄，食物通道仅剩0.5公分，连喝水都疼痛难忍。第一次在台大住院就长达21天，体重骤降至48公斤。作为一名追求完美的金曲奖制作人，疾病让她不得不面对自己的不完美与软弱，这让她感到极度沮丧和无助。她甚至因此埋怨上帝，一度产生了轻生的念头。 信仰的考验与神的同在 在极度痛苦和绝望中，廖老师向上帝发问：“为什么？”上帝没有直接回答，而是问她：“雅惠你知道我很爱你吗？你知道你的生命是我创造的吗？”当时她觉得上帝并不爱她，甚至带着一丝赌气对上帝说：“好，主啊，如果你爱我，你就证明给我看！” 2012年，她因小肠肿胀、白血球过低再次急诊入院，这次住院长达51天。期间她几乎一个月不能进食喝水，只能依靠点滴维持生命。频繁的扎针让她双手青肿，感染了败血症，甚至因为类固醇副作用导致摔倒，牙根都断了。 然而，在病痛的折磨中，上帝的话语却成了她的慰藉。她回忆起《圣经》中的提醒：“你要静默，要知道我是你的神。” 这让她开始反思自己总是将错误归咎于他人，不懂得自我检讨的习惯。她渐渐学会了接纳自己的不完美和软弱，也因此得到了从神而来的勇气，能够面对未来的挑战。 手术与新生：生命的奢侈与恩典 2014年，廖老师的肠子完全堵塞，医生建议进行切肠手术。她最担心的是需要安装人工肛门，因为这会严重影响她的生活和工作。然而，上帝再次展现了他的恩典。手术前一天，医生告诉她，不需要做造口，这让她心中的大石终于落下。 手术切除了60公分的小肠，虽然术后初期仍有不适，但她终于能像正常人一样吃东西了！能...
