在这特殊的受难节（Good Friday），趁着公共假期的静谧，我提早踏上了清明祭祖的思念之路。

今年的清明，因与记念主耶稣受难的日子重叠，更添了一份信仰的厚重与救赎的感恩。

在这特殊的受难节（Good Friday），趁着公共假期的静谧，我和太太决定提早踏上清明祭祖的思念之路。在这个纪念主耶稣为世人受难的日子里，我们夫妻俩并肩而行，不仅是为了缅怀先辈，更是共同确认那份流淌在家族血脉里的信仰。

溯源：百年的漂洋过海

思绪首先回到了高祖母（太祖奶奶）那里。一百多年前，她带着坚韧与盼望，漂洋过海来到了诗巫。作为家族在南洋的拓荒者，她在那动荡的岁月里种下了信仰的种子，才有了我们后辈今天的安稳。

传承：童年的福源堂

随后，我们祭奠了曾祖父母，以及我的祖父与祖母。

我与太太分享起儿时的往事：那时候我还很小，祖父总是牵着我的手，带我去卫理公会福源堂参加主日崇拜。福源堂的钟声与祖父的背影，构成了我生命中最扎实的信仰根基。

思念：父兄的榜样

在父亲的墓前，我们肃穆祷告。爸爸生前那虔诚侍奉主的身影，至今仍是我和太太为人处世的榜样。我也带太太看望了大哥，他在主里的安息，让我们更加珍惜彼此相伴的时光。

感恩：五代的信实

站在墓前，我转头看着身边的太太，心中充满了感恩。这不仅是一场家族的缅怀，更是一场跨越世纪的信仰接力。

从高祖母远渡重洋的开端。

到如今，我是第五代基督徒，也是第五代卫理公会会友。

我们夫妻俩在这特殊的日子里感恩先祖们的传承。他们留下的不只是生活的基业，更是这份珍贵的基督信仰。在受难节的今天，我们怀念先人，更仰望十架。先辈虽已安息，但这份爱与信心的火种，必将在我们这一代、在我们家中，继续薪火相传。

On this solemn Good Friday, taking advantage of the quietude of the public holiday, my wife and I set out to observe Qingming earlier than usual. It was a poignant coincidence; as we remembered the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, we also retraced the footsteps of those who carried His light into our family’s history.

The Century-Old Voyage

Our thoughts first turned to my Great-Great-Grandmother. Over a century ago, she braved the vast oceans to reach the shores of Sibu. She was more than a pioneer of the soil; she was a pioneer of the spirit. Her arrival marked the planting of a seed—a faith that would weathered the storms of a new land and flourish through the decades.

A Legacy in the Red Bricks of Masland

We proceeded to pay our respects to my Great-Grandparents and my beloved Grandparents. Standing there, I shared with my wife the vivid memories of my childhood: the feeling of my small hand tucked into my Grandfather’s firm grip as he led me to Masland Methodist Church for Sunday service. Those early mornings at Masland formed the bedrock of my spiritual life.

Footprints of Devotion

At my Father’s resting place, we paused in quiet prayer. He was a man of profound and steadfast faith—a true servant of Christ whose life was a living sermon. We also visited my Eldest Brother, finding peace in the knowledge of his rest in the Lord.

Five Generations of Faithfulness

Standing alongside my wife, looking back at this long lineage, I am struck by the sheer faithfulness of God. This was not merely a visit to ancestral graves; it was a celebration of a century-long relay of faith.

From the First Generation: My Great-Great-Grandmother’s courageous crossing.

To the Fifth Generation: My own journey today as a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.

To be a fifth-generation Christian and a fifth-generation Methodist is a heritage I do not take lightly. My ancestors left us far more than a name or an estate; they bequeathed to us the "pearl of great price." On this Good Friday, as we look to the Cross, we honour those who ran the race before us, ensuring the flame of faith continues to burn brightly in our home today.
